I look forward to every Saturday, and not just because… it’s well, Saturday. That afternoon ‘Living With Ed’ airs. It’s an absolutely fantastic green TV show on HGTV. If you’ve never seen it, I strongly encourage you to check it out.

It follows the eco-exploits of actor Ed Begley Jr., his wife Rachelle, and all sorts of Hollywood types who are living green or making the switch to greener lives (Helen Hunt, Jay Leno, Jackson Browne, Larry Hagman, etc etc).

Not only do I almost always laugh out loud, but it’s a fun and fantastic way to get a hefty dose of green. You can’t help but be infected by Ed Begley Jr.’s enthusiasm for eco-friendly living. I can always count on seeing new green ideas and technologies that we can use in our own lives. And the ongoing competition between Ed and his neighbor Bill Nye always cracks me up!

Ed has been doing great things for our planet for decades, and I’m thrilled that he has gotten this platform with which to share his passion. This green TV show works so well because his wife Rachelle (slightly less eco-crazed, but equally funny) provides a wonderful balance to his sometimes rather extreme ideas.

‘Living With Ed’ is in its second season, and I hope this green TV show will be around for a long time to come. Ed’s also just written a new book, appropriately titled “Living Like Ed”. I’ll give you more details on it later – I’m still in the middle of reading the book, but I can say that it’s a great, highly useable resource. He’s done a wonderful job of explaining which changes you should be making and how much it will cost, and save, for you to do. There are changes to fit every budget and he gives you the pros and cons of your choices. Definitely one of the most useful eco-books I’ve read in awhile!

Now I’m off to get my weekly fix of Ed!
